GAHANNA, OH – Ohio Insurance Agents Association hosted their annual insurance industry awards ceremony Dec. 4, 2018 in Columbus.
At the ceremony, OIA presented Amanda Geletka, of USI Midwest in Toledo, with the Community Service award. The award recognizes an Ohio independent insurance agent who goes above and beyond in service to their community. Nominations are accepted from across the entire state and winners are selected by a committee of independent agents.
Geletka uses her insurance background to help non-profit organizations in their most vulnerable areas – lessening risk and preserving funds to ensure they can continue their philanthropic endeavors. She is a market leader in non-profits because of her passion to give back to her community and serve others.
Geletka is personally involved in a number of charitable causes in the Northwest Ohio area, and serves in both leadership and volunteer roles with those organizations.
Two organizations close to her heart include Mobile Meals of Toledo, which serves home-delivered meals to more than 2,800 elderly, ailing or physically disabled people each year, and Heartbeat of Toledo, whose mission is to be the best source of information and support to women facing pregnancies and to help moms, dads and babies in need.
Another area where Geletka excels is perhaps the most challenging — her talent for recruiting others to serve. She is passionate about connecting individuals looking for volunteer opportunities with organizations in need.
OIA would like to congratulate Geletka for her hard work, and a job well-done in her community.
